Hi,

We are trying to use a newly purchased ALGE D-LINE display board (D-LINE150-O-6-EO).  We want to use it for projecting the elapsed/finishing times of our ski racers.  So pretty basic operations.

First we connect the board to our laptop.  Then we configure in the timing software (SkiAlp-Pro, Version 12.1.06, from VOLA) what kind of display board we have.  There is a dropdown menu in "Local Configurations", which provides many options (several models manufactured by ALGE, as well as models made by other manufacturers).  We think we should use "ALGE D-LINE STANDARD" as our option but when we do that, the software does not recognize it.  The only way it works if we select ALGE GAZ4.  What are we doing wrong?

Thanks,

Zsolt

Despite the changes to Vola indicating "standard" I have found that the Dlines still need to be configured through the software.

Connect only one display to the computer, for multiple displays program each individually.

Select DLine (I use extended) but either will work

Click Parameters and follow the prompts, assign the com port you are using, then program a "line" - meaning display individually, assigning it an address number, starting with 1, then if multiple 2, 3, 4 etc...

The software will set the parameters in the display and then reset. You will see the firmware version of the display flash, then go blank. Click TEST SCOREBOARD. It will flash the assigned address number, then 111111, 222222, 333333, etc.

Then you can program the data to display in the tabbed window when you open Display Board 1.

Hi.  Thanks for the detailed response.  Will test this later.

mhoward: Thank you for the advice.  I tried this, and it works.  What you suggested wasn't to be found either in the VOLA or in the ALGE manual, and I would have likely not figured it out on my own.  Super helpful.
