I am trying to display the results generated by our timing system (Vola SkiAlp-Pro + TIMY3 device) on an ALGE D-LINE Display Board.  When I connect the display board to the computer with an RS232 banana plug cable, everything works.  However, I cannot get this to work wirelessly.  The wireless system I have consists of two DIGI XBEE RF modems (900 HP RS 232).  One transmitter, one receiver.  The transmitter is hooked up to the computer, the receiver is connected to the display board.  When I test the modems with a software called X-CTU (this is the software recommended by DIGI, the modem's manufacturer), the modems seem to communicate.  That is, I am able to generate test data by using this X-CTU app, and send it to the receiver modem.  But when I try to test the Display Board in SkiAlp-Pro (which is supposed to send data to the Display Board via those modems, nothing happens.  The signal does not  get through the path (Computer -> Transmitter XBEE Modem -> Receiver XBEE Modem -> Display Board), although I am not sure where I have the problem.  What am I doing wrong?

I downloaded Split Second. I have never used it before.  Unfortunately, I cannot get it work: it does not seem to recognize either the timer (ALGE TIMY3) or the display board.  At this point I am not even using wireless, I simply connect the laptop to the TIMY3 and to the display board with cables.  To be clear, I tried to follow those steps that appear on the "Setup and Test Timing" page under "Timy3 Quickstart Guide".  If I understood it properly, it guided me through installing a device driver for the TIMY3.  (I just hope that installation did not mess up something that will prevent me to use the TIMY3 with the VOLA software properly, something which was working before.)  However, even after these steps, Split Second just does not communicate with the TIMY (nor with the display board).  I realize the question was whether the radio modems work with Split Second - but I cannot answer that before I get Split Second to work, which does not appear to be the case.

So you are saying the modules connect to each other and have comunication via the signal path PSC-->TX-->RX (and back to the PC)? Is it possible (or have you?) to connect a second PC to the RX and have another instance of X-CTU monitoring that data get through? If this is positive, start with the VOLA-SW pushing out data and see if RX still receives. My guess is you are missing a link in the serial path.

Matthias: Yes, it is possible to push out a signal via PC -> TX -> RX, and back to the PC.  I can see this happening in the X-CTU tool.  I have not tried to connect a second PC to the RX (for the simple reason that I don't have a second cable with a DB9 and a USB ending).  You were saying "start with the VOLA-SW pushing out data" - what is the SW you are referring to?  If you are referring to SkiAlp-Pro, I tried that, by generating an impulse to the TIMY (which is connected to the PC). Under a cable connection, that impulse goes to the display, but it doesn't go when the connection is through these modems.
