Race Timer
Company: World Triathlon Corporation
Ironman is looking for their next race timer. This is a full time salaried position with benefits. Experience scoring is required. Experience with Championchip and Runscore is preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, large database manipulation within excel, setting up networks at race sites, learning scoring software programming language, and preparing timing chips for use. Ability to learn and adapt to technical programs is a must. In addition to the skills listed here, this person would be expected to handle the stress of race day and maintain composure during intensive scrutiny by athletes and race directors.
Specific duties for the position include managing and processing live data from large complex triathlons, managing a team of 6-8 people during race day and race week, setting up wireless and wired networks, coordinating with various internal and external parties pre and post race, learn and develop various processes related to timing, learn technical programs on the fly, large database management with Excel and Access, significant amount of travel on the weekends and some weekdays from May-October, flexible schedule on race week, and strong customer service skills.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year university, preferably IT related field, experience with large athletic events, ability to learn various detailed processes, ability to problem solve quickly and during non strong analytical skills, ability to plan months ahead and coordinate with multiple parties, strong customer service skills.
