wiring for HL2-32 sync cable?

while fixing a sticky connector end of the sync cable for Tag Heuer HL2-32's, I noticed that the connections at each end were not the same.
If the notch is at 12:00, the red and blue were connected to the 3:00 position, and the copper (ground?) into the 6:00 position. But on one end, the 6:00 position was also connected with a very short wire to the 9:00 position. Is this how it should be at both ends?
