We are a small skiracingteam from the Netherlands. We have a Racetime2 from Microgate for training, but at the end of a run it is difficult for racers to watch the small display on the unit. We like to connect a little larger display board to the unit, but the official units from Microgate of Alge are too expensive. Does anyone have experience with connecting a much cheaper Electronic Message Display to the RS232 port of the Racetime2? What protocol can be used for this? A running time is not important, we will be satisfied with the finish times (and eventually bib nr’s as a bonus)
We do a lot of training on remote slopes, so to big is not useful. We can modify it our self to a battery operated unit.
