While we have used TT*Ware for a two stage DH in the past this was the first time we used it for 3 stages. This particular event combined two DH runs with one Super D run for the combined (DH, super D, DH was the order). With the DH course being 2 minutes in change for the fast guys, Super D just over 5 minutes, and $10,000 cash purse on the line we had to be tight.
Photocells were used at the start and finish and in the end the Pro win was decided by a mere .07 seconds, the Semi-Pro win was only .01 seconds, both after the completion of the final stage. Commentator screens and GAZ display boards kept the announcer, crowd and riders tuned in to the standings.
To protect against any failures we ran backup systems at both ends. At the start the photocell impulse was sent to the primary timer at the finish via wire and to a start timer (TIMY) C0. Start hand timing (push button) was connected to a TED and sent to backup timer at the finish and also to the start timer C1. Two photocells were used at the finish, one to primary and one to backup timers. No hand timing was present at the finish as the NORBA official on record was racing in the event and did not actively participate in scoring the race.
Also deployed was the CJT Timy Dock at the start. This platform held the TIMY at a comfortable working level so the starter could operate the device and keep her hands free for the clipboard and pushbutton she was operating.
Great weekend, great racing, great software producing great results!
