My good friend Miles Wolbe (PC doctor extraordinaire) runs an ultra-cool, technically-oriented web site called TINYAPPS.ORG which is an amazingly robust (and free) technical resource.
TinyApps is an uber-destination for an interesting niche of computer afficionados who delve deeply into the guts of Windows & Mac OS, but may not necessarily be programmers.
If you're interested in Windows rescue tools, security hacks, backup software doo-dads, and all sorts of maintenance-oriented software, check out Miles' BLOG for valuable nuggets. The BLOG is updated more or less daily. Almost all the software he mentions / reviews / links to is either free or available for a nominal fee.
Miles is a vegan and is married to a Japanese woman, so TinyApps has an occasional blast on software with good Kanji support and tips on vegan restaurants he comes across in his travels.
