Before I sit down and start from scratch, has anyone put together a document that users could use to setup Timy's for Backup timing.

This would be a cheat sheet that less technical backup timers could use to sync 2 Timy's.

Also, I'm looking for the same thing for DTRIS and and S4.

Many thanks in advance..

Hi Mike:

I recently used Timys as backups at the Tremblant freestyle event (moguls). All you do is set the units up in Backup mode from the main menu, then when prompted re: time-of-day & date select Change and enter your predetermined sync time (bypass the Date change). You must first interconnect all your Timys using banana jumpers connected to the "C0" start inputs on the side of the units, and either cross-connect this series of Timys to your main timer's start inputs which will start when someone opens the start gate, or simply connect a manual button or pair of bananas that you can tap together when the sync time occurs.

When the TOD occurs, either throw the start wand to start everything at once, or hit your manual button or other method of shorting in order to start your backup system. The Timys will now record all splits in TOD mode.

If these are being used for hand timing, I recommend they be hooked to manual buttons, plugged into "C0" at the start Timy and "C1" at the finish Timy. If they are being used as backup electronic timers, similarly patch Start impulses into "C0" and Finish impulses into "C1" -- this makes tracking TOD times much simpler.
