The STOPWATCH L (light) program is now available and tested by PST
The STOPWATCH L program will:
1) Allow you to time a single course race with unlimited racers on course with the ability to enter bib numbers, calculate net times, etc.
2) Send data to PST, ALGE displays and Broder's GAZ EM
3) Has "memo" function to take time splits and ID them after the fact which is very useful for Bicycle Time Trials, and X country skiing.
4) Sends exactly the same data in all modes. Run Skunkware or Split Second at the same time you are "net timing" on the TIMY.
5) You can dump all of the "tod" splits with Bib Number ID to the PC afterwards
You can download the software from the ALGE website. www-alge-timing.com
Choose, English then download PC software. Then download the "install manager" and place it in a folder. Then download the TIMY software and put it in the same folder. Always use the latest "install manager" (currently v.99)It will appear as "AUTORUN" with the ALGE logo in your folder.
PLug your TIMY into the PC using your data cable. Click on the "autorun" icon. Choose "firmware". At this point the install screen should appear with a large ALGE logo. Turn your TIMY on and the logo should change to a picture of the TIMY. If it doesn't, try pressing the start key again. Then select "install firmware from file" The program should now start erasing the flash memory. This should take 30 seconds or thereabouts and a message "update" or user update" should appear on the TIMY screen. Pull one of the batteries if it takes longer than 30 seconds and the message fails to appear on the TIMY. Plug the battery back in and the correct message should appear. The program will then ask you where the Update file is located. Run through the folders until you find the one you downloaded
the software into. CLick on the "ALGE" timy icon and the program will now start rewriting the TIMY. A status indicator tells you when it is finished, in about 30 seconds. Quit the install program.
Now restart the TIMY. It may take two presses of the "start" button to get going. The TIMY will now display the new Version number of the software. You will now be asked to choose between the Stopwatch and the Backup programs. Choose Stopwatch and then sync the TIMY in the normal way.
You are now presented with your Stopwatch screen. Enter your start bib with the keypad followed by the Green OK. Enter your bib to finish with the keypad and the Red OK. Press the Green start to put them on course. Red stop to finish. The start automatically increments up. Over type with your new bib if you want. Plug your display into the first set of banana plug sockets labeled D-OUT.
The manual for the Stopwatch L program is found on the ALGE site as well. Click on manuals and you can download all 3 available TIMY manuals as PDF files.
Please direct any comments to us and we will forward them to ALGE if we cannot answer them.
