This is Peg McGregor from Elk. You helped me a few weeks ago get some timing stuff worked out and I am, yet again, in need of help. The TYME that we are using had some additional problems!!! No doubt something I did, but here's the deal. We were using the TYME as our back-up timer, running it in
stopwatch mode. I did the diagnostic thing you showed me to do and
while
C0 was fine C1 showed up as darkened which you said meant there was a problem. Additionally, we kept getting the "u" designation in the "start" box at the top of the TYME for starting bib numbers. Although I used the process you outlined on paper for us to clear the "u" sometimes it cleared and sometimes it didn't. Sadly, I didn't know where to go from here. So any insight you have on what I might be doing wrong would be helpful.
Secondly, we have the scored race (J1/2s) championships coming up the weekend of 2/20. What I am wondering is this: could we set up the S3 (at the start) and the S4 at the finish (running time of day) as our back-up timing and then borrow another S4 from you (which is what I think we used the day you were there) to hook up to the computer and run the race using it as our primary timing. I think that would work and we have now redone the wiring so that we shouldn't have any issues with reverse polarity.
Let me know what you think our alternatives are at this point. I really appreciate your help.
