Here's the setup:
TIMY XE hooked to a laptop running Fiddleware via serial port (non-USB). I run a D-Line display off of the D-Out. The C0 is either connected directly to the start wand through hill wiring or through a TED system. The finish (RLS1n) is connected to C1. Pretty basic. I would set up the timer and do all of my timing functions through the software. The timer was there to provide start/stop timestamps for the software and to drive the display.
I hadn't used the system for about 18 months, and I had it stored without the batteries. When I took it out a couple weeks ago, I decided to upgrade the software to the latest version. I noticed no glitches during the transfer.
I used to use the Stopwatch L program exclusively for timing my alpine skiing races. Imagine my surprise when I found that the program had been eliminated and new ones added, none of which I am familiar with.
Now I can't effectively use the timer as anything else than a dumb timebase to provide time stamps (through the Backup program), but that does nothing to drive the display and makes it worthless for free-running training sessions.
When I use the Stopwatch program, it works fine for the first racer, displaying the run time on the D-Line. That's where it stops. I can take further inputs from the start wand, but none from the finish sensor. The D-Line stays frozen at the first's racer's time. I used to have it set for a 10 second delay.
All of my manuals are kinda confusing, and I'm pulling out my remaining hair trying to get it to work like it used to. The less interaction I have during the race with the TIMY, the better.
Please help!!! What am I doing wrong?
