Here's the setup:
TIMY XE hooked to a laptop running Fiddleware via serial port (non-USB). I run a D-Line display off of the D-Out. The C0 is either connected directly to the start wand through hill wiring or through a TED system. The finish (RLS1n) is connected to C1. Pretty basic. I would set up the timer and do all of my timing functions through the software. The timer was there to provide start/stop timestamps for the software and to drive the display.

I hadn't used the system for about 18 months, and I had it stored without the batteries. When I took it out a couple weeks ago, I decided to upgrade the software to the latest version. I noticed no glitches during the transfer.

I used to use the Stopwatch L program exclusively for timing my alpine skiing races. Imagine my surprise when I found that the program had been eliminated and new ones added, none of which I am familiar with.

Now I can't effectively use the timer as anything else than a dumb timebase to provide time stamps (through the Backup program), but that does nothing to drive the display and makes it worthless for free-running training sessions.

When I use the Stopwatch program, it works fine for the first racer, displaying the run time on the D-Line. That's where it stops. I can take further inputs from the start wand, but none from the finish sensor. The D-Line stays frozen at the first's racer's time. I used to have it set for a 10 second delay.

All of my manuals are kinda confusing, and I'm pulling out my remaining hair trying to get it to work like it used to. The less interaction I have during the race with the TIMY, the better.

Please help!!! What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like there is no bib in the finish, it isn't advancing to the next bib. Manually put the next bib into the finish with the bib number and "Red ok". To have this happen automatically, go the menus and you need to set "Stno Number" like this:

Stno Start: Start
Stno Finish: Finish
Automatic time: Off

You set the delay to bring the next bib into the finish via Display Delay, as you have set, somewhere between 5-12 depending on your interval, etc.

You need to make sure you bring the first bib manually into the finish, and you then advance past DNFs via "Red Ok" which will auto advance to next bib at finish, or deal with passes by entering bib number and "Red Ok" to bring the correct bib to the finish que. Same with the start que and "Green Ok".

You should be able to time on the Timy and send all Data to the software.

Note: in some software if you clear a bib in a que (start or finish) it will re-print the time on the tape, and send the time with a "c" as a clear to the software. Your software (not sure about Fiddleware) may recognize this as an impulse.
