Tdc 8001 and com-to-file

having trouble transferring start times from pc (com to file) to tdc 8001. Tdc8001 connected to PC using serial cable. After loading table in COM to file, click send all, dialog box "handshake not enabled! be shure to have the right cable!" appears. I am sure I have the right cable.

click OK then afer each row appears to be sent, dialog box "timeout from timing device, no answer" after each row in table is scanned.
The tdc 8001 has a race selected and the LED display is blank. Anyone have an idea how I can make this work?

There are versions of COM to File that don't work as expected.

Make sure that you are actually in the race with the sync or start already done.
