Looks like they're intended to take on Alge's very successful PR1a cell. But I don't see an integral sunshade or a rounded top to prevent snow accumulation. Those are small touches we've come to appreciate with the Alge.

What's your take on the built-in battery? In theory it is a money saver, but will the battery last all day in a cold snowy application? And what will be the cost, complexity and availability of battery replacement down the road? AA batteries are cheap, available everywhere and a new pair can be inserted between runs if the existing ones are getting weak.
So far the "freezer" test says that the battery has great life. Of course we will be using them all season long on our own hill here at Bear Creek Mt. Resort.

The wireless can be turned off to save power if they are being used wired.

The battery is a common lithium ion pack available on the open market so we do not foresee an issue there.

There will plenty of time to see their performance prior to the drop off homologation of several TAG Heuer cells after 2018
