Tag 502s on eBay

Well, I made a half-hearted best offer on the 502s and for some reason they accepted. Now I have to figure out what to do with them. As far as I can tell, they're still FIS certified. I guess I'll wait and see when they arrive what kind of shape they're in.

Good Luck with them, they are still on the homologated list so you might be able to use them for FIS events. You might what to think about using them for training purposes.

I was mainly concerned with Tag still supporting them, which they seem to do. I have an Alge Timy, so my personal system is set up. I bought them to replace the RRS IIs timers the kids (non USSA/FIS) have been using.

Most software packages seem to support the 502, which would be an upgrade from their current recording methods (by hand).

I'm still going to use the IIs timer to run the RRS giant displays, in parallel with the 502. Hopefully it works.

Reliable Racing in the US or Precision Timing in Canada s/b able to help you out and locate some instruction manuals. Last recourse is Tag itself, there isn't much on their webb site about older stuff, but eventually they do reply to their emails.

I used ours for hand times at the start and finish.Worked great---weather can be a problem--snow or rain will make the paper unreadable, And good case will solve this,and a good plunger to record impulses.
