Synchronize RTPro for use with Split Second and GPS time not connecting

1. Are there any detailed instructions on the proper way to generate a sync pulse from the start gate while using the RTPro Microgate? I can push the STA button directly but am unable to synchronize the system via a start pulse. We previously used the Alge Timy, so maybe thinking about this incorrectly.

2. When I select GPS to set the time it never connects. Is GPS a standard built in capability or do I need a certain license?
