Terry,
Guilty as charged.
I try to make the software as intuitive as possible but when it comes to writing documentation, I don't do such a good job.
I've just taken that old manual off the web site. It was very out of date, and as you discovered didn't cover the timing side of things.
But, to get you started:
The left side of the Timing Screen is divided into four sections:
- The top, for the person in the start gate. If it doesn't have who is in the start gate, type in their bib and press Enter. Bibs starting with F are reserved as forunners.
- The next section is for competitors on course. Once a Start is received from the Timer the competitor from the Start will move into this section and the elapsed time will display. Up to 4 competitors can be on course at once.
- When a Finish is received the next expected competitor will move into the 3rd area, for recently finished competitors.
- The fourth area is for currentleaders.
To manage 'stuff':
- There are button on the right to quickly handle False Start and False Finish.
- To handle just about everything else just (left) click on the competitor and you'll get a pop-up screen. This will have all the options that apply to that competitor. This will let you deal with DNF, the wrong person Starting or Finishing, Passing situations etc.
- If you are timing with Intervals there will be a 2nd line of data (interval times) for each Competitor. Clicking anywhere on this line will give a different pop-up with options applicable to intervals
The real secret is to hook your timer up and play with the timing screen. .. You'll see you can quickly deal with the vast majority of fixes you'll ever need to do...
Hope this helps.
