Split Second Custom Report

Hi,

I have customized a few reports for various events in split second but am now getting stumped. I am timing a running race where we are not doing age group awards, just top 3 m/f 5k/10k. I want to find or write a report that will sort results and create pages based on gender and distance. I have accomplished this in the past by creating classes with the distance, gender and age range (5F20-20 = 29 year old female 5k) but if I can avoid creating extra classes that would be nice.

Anyone know if you can get results with this criteria?

Yes you can. Already creating custom reports gives you a head start. In the competitor edit field, you can specify the distance covered. When creating your custom report, you can specify the sorting order of up to three variables.

Thanks MHoward. I already have that data in the file and the report. I guess the question really should have emphasized creating breaks in the report between the distance and gender categories like you would get if you put them in as classes.

You can use the Custom field in competitor editing, make it whatever data you need and sort using that field. The field doesn't need to be shown in the report.
