I have opened the old "points" board that we supplied you first. It is working fine. I am using it with "BAREME A" and it is displaying the points penalities for time over optimum.
The Circuit board is set on rotary dial "0" the toggle switch is in the "up" position with the
banana plug inputs located to the left of the toggle switch.
There are 8 studs for the colored wires to connect to.
They are numbered from 1-8 from the right. #1 is located closest to the banana plug inputs.
The wires are assigned as follows:
1) not used
2) 100s of points
3) 10ths of points
4) not used
5) not used
6) 1s of points
7) 10s of points
8) not used
The message that you see sounds normal. This one ends up like:
blank A E blank
When it is done with the start up sequence.
It sounds like the signal from the timer is not getting to the circuit board. This is a common
problem as I explained earlier.
There is a 4 pole connector on the main circuit board. Signal and ground can be input there
as well.
There are four poles but only 3 are used
1) closest to the banana plug inputs = Signal in
2) Not used
3) Signal and power ground
4) 12v power input
Try setting the timer on the BAREME A setting and running a simple round and just let the
time exceed the preset optimum. The display should start counting the penality points once
that preset time is exceeded.
I do not know if the S4 timer transmits penality points in every program. I only tested it with
this simple example. You do have to make sure that the S4 is set to output running time on
both Channel 1 and 2. Consult page 18 of the manual.
The S4 has to show:
LF CH 1-2
You should also be able to use this display for time by putting the toggle switch on the main
circuit board on "middle". The two displays should work either way.
