Seiko S143 to DPU 414?

I asked this in the data thread but maybe it is more apropriate here.
In a previous thread I see some people have unlocked the secrets of seiko printing stopwatches and computers. Has anyone ever tried to get a seiko stopwatch to talk to a serial printer that is not the specific one they sell specifically I own a DPU 414 and would like to get the watch to print to it instead of spending on another printer I don't expect to use more than once or twice a year. As an aside I did get a seiko printing watch to work with an Alge photo cell.
