S4 with split second software

When I use the s4 with split second software in dos (ver 6.19) it works fine with inputs 1 and 2 on a single course. But when I try a dual course the timer recognizes inputs 3 and 4 but sends it to the computer as 4 and 5. My problem might just be that I need to move into the 21st century and start using windows. I do have win 98 but we could never get it to run right in windows. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Input channels on the S4 seem to be the issue here. Geoff was using a bizarre S4/COMET scheme in the DOS software. Thank goodness he has improved the WIndows version! This adapter used a DIN plug with 3 leads on it. It plugs into the "A" photocell input. The 6 pin plug can be purchased at Radio Shack, although it is of poor quality. We will gladly make this adpater if needed. Please try to upgrade to the Windows version.

Pin 1 --Left Start , channel SZ

Pin 2 -- Left Finish, channel 1

Pin 3 -- Common ground

Pin 6 -- Right Start, channel 2

"B" banana plug input - Right Finish, Channel 3

You can also access these channels using the DB25 connector on the back of the S4.

Pin 12 -- common ground

Pin 2 --Left Start, channel SZ (0)

Pin 14 -- Left Finish , channel 1

Pin 3 -- Right Start, channel 2

Pin 4 --Right Finish, Channel 3
