The GAZ4 3 digit display works the same as any other. It is the toggle switch on the circuit board that determines whether the display shows bib/rank, min sec 100th, or hr min sec. The colored wires that connect the main circuit board to the digits carry the instructions to the board. If you placed the toggle switch on Bib/rank, the 3 colored wires on locations 7, 6, 5 (8 being not used and the furthest on the left looking down on the circuit board) the rotary switch o "0" and sent the display bib information from the TDC4000, the bib should appear.
The display can be addressed using the hand held COMET for just putting up bib numbers without any other task. There is a program in the COMMANDER section on doing this.
Feel free to play around with the colored wires. The voltage is 12vdc and it only is sent when the digit is addressed. We move them around all the time while the display is running to get them in the right order.
