In the set-up and test it will show all impulses. Whether they are visible on the SST Software log will depend on three settings. It will depend on the delay (if any) of the photocells (Tag has this delay setting, Alge does now), delay setting on the timer, and the delay setting for the acceptance into SST Software. The lower the better without getting multiple finish impulses.

Demo mode shows view raw data as long as a timer is chosen. In older versions you have to click a button. It is automatically visible in the set-up and test screen for timers in the newest versions of both the National/FIS and Club Software. First start by making sure you have the newest version of the software.

I would consult the manuals. I am not as versed in the S4 but it is pretty easy on the Timy to go the menu and settings for channels and set the delay for the various channels.

I'll back up. Unless I am wrong, in past years the timing log showed every impulse that the clock picked up even if the pulses came in quicker than the delay set in the software. I am trying to confirm whether there was a change in the software, a problem with the software, or if I am wrong about previous versions of it showing every pulse (even those closer together than the delay) in the timing log. When I wrote Geoff about this, his answer was that every pulse is shown in the raw data screen. I have never used the raw data screen. I assume this screen is supposed to record every pulse from the clocks. If yes, can they be viewed later? The raw data screen is blank on every old race I have opened.
Raw data is in the set-up and test, shows every impulse and is not saved. As soon as you leave the software, it is gone (maybe even the screen, but I don't have a timer with me to test).

The timing log is different, and will only show what goes on during a timing session.

The National/FIS shows data like:

Elapsed 48.48
Fin 9:17:33.679200 ignored, elapsed (13.80) less than minimum of 40

and
Finish at 9:22:58.964100 not assigned, nobody on course

I believe the club is the same, but I don't currently have any logs to access. I don't think it shows ignored impulses due to the delay settings.

I have been going thru some old races from last year and the raw data is still there. It doesn't matter if your in demo mode. I use a timy and an S4. I couldn't find any races that that i had used the timy but the data from the S4 was still there. As for the timing log it only records impulse used in the timing screen with the delays that are set in the split second software. I am using the latest versions of split second.

John, could you please confirm how you are getting to the raw data of an old race? As Jenna said, my raw data log is always empty after I close and reopen it. It seems to show only the raw data recorded while it is open. I am opening it with the View Raw Data button on the Setup & Test screen. We used an S4 on the computer that I am trying view the data log.
I am using Ski Club Ver. 4.03 Rev 5. I am going into the setup and test screen and it is there. In this version of the program there is no 'raw data' button. I went back to some races from last year and the data is still there, just went and found some races from 06 and the info is there. You do not need to have a timer selected when you are viewing old races. The race file you are looking in is the same file that you timed the race with correct? I just did a little exploring, the FIS program DOES NOT save the raw data but the ski club program does. Hope this helps.
