We have had several photocells and other related equipment damaged recently. The major culprit has been the Kirkland batteries. Fumes from one set of batteries damaged the internal circuit board.

Strange since Costco batteries are made by Duracell

In general it is always a great idea to remove batteries when not in use.

I've never had issues with batteries that couldn't be solved with cleaning the affected area with a small metal brush. but recently started using a spray solution to clean electrical components that have oxidation on it.

An electrician recommended this spray to me, DeoxIt

I just recently purchased this Battery organizer, mainly for the tester that came with it.
