Alge start wand bolted on a 4 x 4 wood post.

I need a good shot of at good mounting system.
and how far toward the front of the ptalform. platform.

Also who far apart should the posts be?

I helped install those posts at Lake Louise. They are aluminum and hollow. Honestly, I didn't like them. They were painted black and they help to pump heat into the snow. In the warmer weather +4C, they were always loose.

To 'help' take off pads were also attached to them. This contributed to their not being solid.

The FIS timing manual advises what the distance should be (sorry, I don't have it handy). However, the wand should be touching and overlapping the far post to ensure that the skier does not ski around the end of the wand.

The Wand itself should be at the point were the slope goes away from the horizontal.

Tell me more.. How did the wands actually break?
