Hi Folks,

at the German U20 / U18 champs last weekend in Jena, the backup-camera was places in the infield, about 4m from the track.

That's ok so far. But take a look at this picture:



The camera is at a height of about 2.5m.

I wonder, if this could work.
We use to position the camera at about 4m height at the same distance to the track.

BTW, the main camera was on the top of the main stand, about 20m in height and distance from the Track (in the booth, you can see at this picture)

Looking at the pictures it was pouring so they elected to cover the camera. The lower the camera, the more a farther away athlete can be hidden by a closer athlete. Given that this was a backup or reverse angle and they had great height on the primary, I suspect that their main purpose was as suggested above, to read hip numbers on distance finishes.

If every location was permanent we'd all do it different probably :-)
