I am trying to set up a Dell 8620 laptop computer. I have downloaded the 8.10 software on the computer. I have set the IP address to 192.162.0.5 as mentioned in the users manual but when I boot of up camera and open the software the camera is not found. I went to the Dell drivers page and downloaded the ethernet driver onto the computer thinking that was the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions why my computer is not finding the camera? Thanks for your help!

Is the NIC in your DELL working at all?

If so, did you try to connect the camera directly to your DELL, using a X-Link cable?
Or connect both, the DELL an the camera to a switch, using patch cables?

The camera doesn't have to be connected to the box at all...

Any other computer within the network?
As we set up out equipment some years ago for the second time, I had the management-pc on 192.168.3.101, the 2nd pc on .3.102 and the pc with the timing-client for connecting to our Seltec-System on .3.103.

I drove nuts, because I didn't see the cameras, which were set themself to 102 and 103...

1. get a crossover cable and connect directly. Are link lights on on both sides?
2. Turn off windows firewall or any other "security" software running that monitors network traffic. Most Virus scanners do this.
3. Be sure your IP address and subnet are set. I always use 192.168.2.# 255.255.255.0
4. Disable the onboard wifi adapter.
Which version of the Lynx camera are you using? With the new version, you can connect the cat 6 cable from the camera to the computer and bypass the c-box if you are using radiolynx connected to the back of the camera. The older versions you still have to use the c-box. Also in your LAN settings, if you are not using more then one computer to time and do results, I just set the IP and DNS to auto. Start lynx and then plug up or turn on the camera.
