This is the Nastar feature whereby you can
register racers remotely, like at the race
start, with another computer that is connected
by 'short haul' modems to the main timing
computer.

We are working to get this system online at Gunstock. We're getting in some of the needed
hardware and cabling, and have done a bit of
bench testing.

Would be interested to hear from other Nastar
areas who have it up and running, for some
sage advice and tips.

Just a note that we have the Remote Registration
up and running for Nastar, with a total expense
of under $250 for materials, mainly the 'short
haul' modems. Plus a USB cable and a few
adaptor plugs from Radio Shack. We are using
our backup pair of timing wires for transmission.

Works fine, but bench-test it first with the
computers near each other before trying the
whole setup.
