Clients have asked for a small battery powered display to show times during training with the Racetime2.

We have an 8 digit mini display 3 inch digit (88mm) from our NASTAR system that we thought could provide some useful information.

The trick was modifying the Dewalt 18v battery powered flashlight to power it. Drill batteries seem to be the best idea as we all have them close at hand.

The display performed great all day in the freezing and then cold rain.

The Dewalt yellow is very close to the Microgate yellow so this combination is a great concept. Not only the color but you are correct, dewalt drills are the most common out there. I also like the Jeep caribiener, I have many of these and use them for similar tasks all the time.

I would suggest the best way to use the dewalt battery is to cannibalize a charger and use that as a drop in for the battery. The other option is to cannibalize a broken dewalt tool and have a snap in batter receiver. How ever you decide to power it, this is a great display solution for the microgate and other training system users!
