It's no secret that FIS needs to jazz up its public appeal. Here at the Lake Louise World Cup event, we have proposed and demonstrated our suggestion to broaden the appeal of ski racing to the Slashdot/Digg (geek) population:

Europe vs North America in keyboard-tossing.

Michael Csenar from SIEMENS Austria prevented a North American sweep of the podium. The Canadians dominated. The highest-placed American was myself, placing a respectable 4th.

We had a follow on, it was the monitor tossing.

Ted is just making sure it is really a dead monitor http://portcredit.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=17&pos=153.

I'm not sure who plugged this 12VDC monitor into 220VAC (all assumptions), but that seemed to have done the trick!

We never got this competition off the ground as we just got too busy in the final days. We even managed to run DSL to the start hut at Lake Louise http://portcredit.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=17&pos=157. Ebay anyone?
