Interference Blacklist: Honda EU3000iS

Anyone using Chronelec or AMB transponders, watch out for the following generator which is known to be a source of problematic interference for both those systems:

Honda EU3000iS (and earlier 3000i models)

The 2000 and 6500 models do not seem to cause any trouble, but for some reason the 3000 models are incompatible with both AMB (Mylaps) and Chronelec (Tag Heuer RC/RCs).

Testing with the 3000i showed complete suppression of the transponder signal when positioned close to the line to intermittent missed passings at a distance of up to 50m. Re-positioning cables, loop and fences had little or no effect on the interference.

We have a Honda EU20i power generator, and too cause so much noise on the decoder, we just turn off the "ecco" mode on EU20.

We use too two Honda 10i and work well.

You can use a outlet power strip with EMI/RFI protection (like used by DJ's to avoid noise on speakers), I bought one like this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SS6Block and reduced noise from 26 to 15 or 11
