Import ignores catagory?

importing from .xls and it shows up in the window to assign fields but when i import to vola the screen is pink because the general parmeters haven't been meet. all i can figure is it is because the catagories are blank, when i change the general parameters so that catagories is blank the pink background goes away?

wont import year and catagory unless I manually enter them then I still get a pink screen, but if I close the race and reopen it the pink screen is gone
