While attempting to upgrade a timy to the latest firmware I have encountered some problems that have left the clock non-functional. During the process the program the timy became non responsive. Timy said updating and would not turn off. I then removed the batteries and replaced. Tuning on produces display that says Boot Prog V0223 with a date of Jul 18, 2002. This is as far as it goes and timy is not recognized by the autorun program. Is this a trip to PA, Austria or something else?

As far as I know this is not a fatal error that would require an overseas trip for your Timy. This has happened occasionnally to me while upgrading the firmware, I suspect the cause is some sort of file corruption during the download process. If you re do the download of the files (Timy and Autorun) and only turn on the TIMY when prompted by Autorun it should work.

If it does not work try different variations such as updating directly on the Alge site instead of dowloading the files the first. Sometimes I had to turn the Timy on and off a few times before Autorun recognised it.

And once I had to go to a different laptop to get it completed, never figured out why but it worked. If all else fails send it back to your supplier.
The unit has once again had problems with a firmware upgrade. With a serial connection and using the autorun program the flash was erased and then autorun asked me to turn timy off and on. I did this not less than about 20 times but this did not get autorun to move to the next step and install the new file. I tried exiting the program, restarting but could not get the autorun to see the timy. I then tried the USB update option and got it to work!! If you are having trouble with your firmware upgrade give the USB upgrade program a try. Worked for me.
