The leading edge of a storm was coming through Vermont yesterday. Two impulses were recorded at the start on the backup (Split Second delay at 2.00 sec.), false start clicked and I noticed a solid red LED on the Blinky Box. Called for a stop start to check what was going on. I decided to continue, as I was still getting starts. Three minutes after the initial event, a massive lightning strike hit the resort. Impulses were received through the OC18 on C0, C1, C2 hooked to a wireless intermediate and C4 not connected to anything. The correct finish impulse for bib #20 was received correctly (not shown) and verified with hand times.
The 2nd women's run was terminated for multiple reasons.
The Blinky circuit board took an electrical spike BEFORE the lightning hit. The OC18 survived as did the rest of my timing equipment.
