This year, our club will be utilizing the Auto Capture Module module instead of the capture button. In previous events, we have had human error faults where they forgot to press capture button at times, so the ACM should be of great benefit for us. One thing that puzzles me though is that I can't find anyway of ensure that when the event is pulled up and armed, that the capture icon is always in the in-active state - meaning one has to always remember to activate that icon. The rational being since it always captures finish line activity when capture mode is enabled, it can record "junk" that one doesn't want like people walking over the finish line. But, to me I could less about the junk - as long as it captures the athletes crossing the line - I can always throw the junk out - but I can never go back in time to remember to toggle the capture if it was missed.
Does anyone know if there is way to have the capture icon automatically enable when the gun goes off?

Has anyone missed an event because the capture icon wasn't enabled?

Everybody (who is truthful) has missed a capture because they didn't use the button or because they did not enable autocapture I think :-)

As soon as the event is open, then you may simply toggle capture on. There is no technical reason to not enable it ... once you do that, you will get any spurious crossings, but you can easily crop those out if you wish.

At the top center you will see the event that has a small c next to it, that is where the capture is going to go.
You need an operator who can pay attention and do a job. There's no plug-in or piece of software or hardware that's going to automate a process where you kick up and watch it all unfold. It doesn't matter if you have a capture button or ACM or set it to capture on time, you have to train an operator to hit Alt+T not once but twice, that's all.
re: ChrisA - Yes, you are right, there is no substitute to having an operator that will never miss a capture. But, if we had that, why even bother with ACM? - the manual capture button works fine. One of the key selling points of ACM was so one never misses a capture. The reality is that as a youth club that operates by volunteers, sometimes you don't always have the luxury as having perfect operators Wink . I don't know - I just thought that this should be an option setting...

re: captureguy - I was thinking the same thing after reading some older posts. I'll have to see if that would work. I'll report back.

Thank you everyone for your inputs - I really appreciate it.
