Yes, I know it quite well.

It has some strong features (software is very good and stable), power consumption (25 hours with backlit and one print each minute, at least 12 hrs. with regular work & backit).
Printer is smart and VERY fast.
Three serial ports, one dedicated to scoreboards (many protocols are available), one devoted to PC link (with special features to lock precisely external equipment to the system's time).

Other design choices are discutable, like the keyboard (soft membrane).
Actually it came more or less one year before the REI2 was available.

I would rate both roughly at the same level.
Price is good, and the price/performance/characteristics ratio is surely between the best.

Don't even think to get a keyboard like the Tdc8001's fantastic 'pro' keys, or triple lcd display..... just a honest, extremely reliable device.

Night usability (thanks to the backlit lcd, like the REI2) is a BIG advantage, that becomes critical in car racing (rally) competitions and other night events.

Massively diffused in Italy, as you may expect.
