Is there a way that the electronic signal given off by the Alge bang system can start the Finishlynx photo finish system. I figured there must be a way since the alge photo finish is set up just like finishlynx.

I don't see why not. You just need the XLR connection to the Lynx C Box. The BANG outputs a pulse that the normally open Lynx system will detect as a start pulse.
the signal coming out of the bangbox is a 2 wire system and lynx is 3 wire plug any idea how to adapt between the 2 systems.
You can build you own or use a adapter XLR to banana jack adapter. I attached a photo of the Pomona Electronics 7286 adapter.

You can just solder one up. A XLR or Cannon male plug is very common. Try sound system or audio people

It was quite a while ago. I thought I purchased the triple binding post adapter at Sweetwater or Markertek. It appears to be discontinued although there are similar connectors.
