Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating....guess I got spoiled watching Soelden on Austrian TV. I have both IE and Firefox going and NOTHING is happening with the live feed. Firefox shows the template, and who was on course when you first load the page, but then it does not load automatically, so ALT+F5 has been the command of the day - but it seems to gag after the third time you reload.

Let's not even go to IE. I'm still waiting for the FIS home page to load.....

Anyone else have these problems??

The problem is that FIS is trying to run their live timing site without load balancing, i.e. on one server.

During our three DH training runs here at Lake Louise, FIS live timing worked perfectly, because only a few hundred people were connected.

For the race, their link from Eurosport resulted in about 10,000 simultaneous connections, which brought their server to its knees.

I don't think FIS will have anything more sophisticated in place today for the S-G, but give it a try anyway, see what you find, and post your findings here.

All of our live timing packets went out to them as per their spec, the rest is up to FIS. Methinks next week FIS will be moving in some additional hardware horsepower, i.e. multiple servers and a load balancer.
