NHARA Timing and Officials Clinics

The NHARA Timing and Officials Clinics will be held on Sunday December 2, 2007, once again at the Common Man Inn in Plymouth, NH. Morning clinics will begin at 9 AM and afternoon clinics at 12:30 PM. The usual timing clinics, Level 0, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, will all be offered. The Officials' clinics' topics will be announced in September. 2007-2008 Season NHARA Timing and Race Officials' clinics:

Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Foster's Common Man Inn at 231 Main St., Plymouth, NH. Exit 26 from I-93. See the NHARA web site for changes: http://www.nhalpine.org/

Please pre-register for the clinic(s) of choice with Laura Sullivan at: uskram@aol.com or 413-634-8036

Include name, USSA number, email address, mountain affiliation and clinic(s) attending.

Bring Comp Guide, a calculator and pencils. Print out the Level One or Three T&C study guides, or the RF study guide for study and reference and bring it if in one of those clinics. Attendees at any clinic do NOT need to be Alpine Officials. On-site AO registration is possible.

Fee: $ 10 for the first clinic, $ 5 for additional.

Schedule:

8:30 AM Registration

9:00 AM Level 0 timing clinic: The rules without the math. Instructor TBD. Morning only.

9:00 AM Level 1 timing clinic with Laura Sullivan. Ends with the exam for Level 1 T&C certification. All day.

9:00 AM Level 2 timing clinic with Jenna Ginsberg. Main topic: The FIS timing booklet and the USSA rules.

Second: The correct entries into the Technical Timing Form.

Third: The 07-08 season update.

Fourth: Discussion of 06-07 issues. Morning only.

9:00 AM Level 3 timing clinic with instructor TBD. Ends with the exam. All day.

12:00 PM Officials' clinic: RACE-WORKER Clinic (in general) including instructions on "HOW TO GIVE A RACE WORKER CLINIC TO YOUR ORGANIZATION." Every organization should send at least one attendee.

Presenter TBD. All afternoon.

12:00 PM Officials' clinic: "SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW THE RULES: PROVE IT!" Study for the REF 1 test. A passing grade on the REF 1 test is now one of the pre-requisites for certification as a Jury Advisor, and proves a comprehensive knowledge of the rules of ski racing. Ends with the Ref 1 exam. Presenter TBD. All Afternoon.



Note: This clinic is intended for Alpine Officials and not to be a substitute for the Referees' Clinic. Coaches should attend one of the coaches' referee clinics .

Directions to the Common Man Inn:

Exit 26 from I-93. Almost immediately take the right towards Rt. 3.

Turn right, southbound, onto Rt. 3. The Common Man is about 200 yards on the left. The entrance ramps back onto I-93 are directly opposite the entrance to the Common Man. About 1.5 hours from the Mt. Washington Valley, and less than 1.5 hours from the MASS border.

Go to the back of the inn, park, and enter through the inn's main lobby entrance, which is at the rear of the building.
