We unfortunately left our timy plugged in over the summer and there was no power to the race shack, the timy is now dead and will not power up. does anybody have any suggestions???

have you tried putting in new batteries?
We only had six new durcell, we tried it breifly but to no avail. We also had the power connection pluged in but that seemed to do nothing as well.
There is a small fuse inside the TIMY. Perhaps it got overloaded and blew. Lightning strike perhaps.

can I use a Tag CP 520 with a Alge Tido and if i can what do i do, I have both units connected to the compute but I need to know how to get the computer to recognize the CP 520. We have borrowed the CP 520 and we have a race on monday night. Any help would be great.
Do you have the PC data cable that came with the 520? That is pretty critical since it is a specific cable and one for another use won't work even though it may look correct.
Yes, I believe it is the correct cable. There is a phone jack connection to the Tag unit and a ten pin connection to the computer
Ok. So the DB9 serial connection needs to get into the PC either via a direct serial port (com 1) or a USB to serial adapter. Once you can see the Com port ( Com 9 or below) in Windows device manager you should be ready to go. Split Second setup and test and select TAG CP520/705 in the drop down menu and test. You only have a start/input 1 and finish/input 2. Make sure you unblock the inputs on the face of the timer.
will the 25pin cord that plugs into the computer from the Tido power the Alge finish beams,start and head sets that are connected to the tido box??
This connector is set up and mapped for connection to a TIMY ONLY. Connecting this to a parallel port on a computer will not provide power for your photocell or headset circuits. If you are using a 520 you should use an external headset amp and batteries for your photocells however you may be able to power photocells via DIN connectors and proper cables if you do the following. (from the TIDO manual on the Alge website)

In case you want to have power supply output on pin 4 of the pho-tocell DIN-connectors, than you need a external power supply at the TIDO. Suitable as external power supply is the ALGE power supply PS12 connected at one of the photocell DIN-sockets.
May heat up the Headset circuit too??
