Sorry for the delay.

The TIMY should be set up to output 2400 baud. The outputs are the first banana plugs on the side of the TIMY from the base of the unit. The lower row of plugs is ground. The upper plug is signal.

The GAZ4 should be set on rotary dial 0 with the toggle switch in the center for min min:sec sec: 100ths or down for Hrs Hrs: min min: sec sec Your comment that the board counts up would seem to indicate that the rotary dial is on 15.

I am assuming the the display turns on, goes through the start cycle, and displays ALGE. If the signal is not getting through I would suspect the connection from the banana plug inputs to the circuit board. They can break off if the display is handled roughly. Try inputing signal through the 4 pole amphenol plug. Pin 2 is ground, Pin 4 (looks like ground symbol) is signal.
