The S3 timer is capable of sending data from either the Printer or Scoreboard port. ALways use the Printer port first because data is sent out of both possible connections. The Scoreboard port only sends "time of day" in one connection. Experiment after you have made the connection using the Printer port. Label the DIN plug "UP" or similar.

Likewise the TDc 4000 is direction specific. If it does not work in one direction, reverse the plug.

The S3 timer must be set in "Hour Print" mode.

Leave A/B switch on A

Press Yellow button down while turning knob to DIFF

Release when HP 0:00:00 appears

Increment hours up with the red button

Increment hours up with the yellow

The Timer is active at all times while programing. Make sure your connections and polarities are correct before attemping to "sync" the timer. You may also press the "sync start" toggle down to start the timer for a non sanctioned event. You may refer to the pages under the heading "S3 expanded program; Part II b) time of day printer
