Have you tried getting the circuit board out of the housing and potting material? If you can get them out cleanly then you should be able to replace the battery and repot them into the housing.
I've successfully done this with a different chip system that I use.
It depends on what the potting compound is. If it is fully potted in a ridged material there is almost no hope of servicing them. If it is a flexible material, or a flexible material with an epoxy cap, then you may be able to break off the hard cap and peel away the flexible material.
