Phoenix Sports is sponsoring the Human Powered Vehicle built buy students at the Missouri Science and Technology University. We met these wonderful young people while the Tour of Missouri stopped in Rolla last fall. They have a TDC 8000 timer, cells and cabling to allow them to time and calculate speed for their entry.
Go team!
Fred,
Thanks for the quick turnaround! They've changed the course and presentation
information recently, so I was waiting for them to lock it in, and here you go:
Friday, April 17th:
All of the teams will be displaying their vehicles in the Korman Quad of Drexel
University, Philadelphia, PA next to the Bossone Research Center from 5 to 7 pm,
and there will also be presentations going on in the Mitchell Auditorium of the
Bossone Research Center from around noon until 7. Our team presents at 6
o'clock.
Saturday, April 18th:
From 8 AM to noon the sprint event will be held in Fairmont Park, along the
South Concourse Drive. It's first-come first-serve, get-as-many-as-you-can
style sprinting, where we run as often as we can in the 4 hour slot on a 1/4
mile sprint course.
Sunday, April 19th:
From 8 AM to roughly noon the Endurance Event will be held around the West End
of Fairmont Park. A course layout can be found here:http://files.asme.org/asmeorg/Events/Contests/HPV/18056.pdf
It looks to be a pretty intense course, with a good uphill(the left side of the
course
) and a downhill straightaway(the top segment), which will give our low weight
vehicle an extra advantage over the usually heavier competition vehicles.
They assembled a google maps collection of markers for the happenings, and you
can find it here:

To see a list of the universities we'll be competing against in the single rider
class: http://files.asme.org/asmeorg/...ntests/HPV/18053.pdf
We've just finished the final, last-minute detail work on the vehicle before we
start in on the painting and vinyls, so we're pretty excited to be showing off
at competition within a week! Thank you again for all of your support for our
team.
