Does anyone know how to get hundredths of a second on a manual start? I want to time a time-trial and all my cameras are in for repairs. I was hoping to be able to use a manual start and an identilynx camera. Also if anyone knew how to get a start from a connection box without a camera that would probably do the trick as well.

I know this is out of the box, but I'm not all that concerned about accuracy.

The Identilynx camera only has a 1/30 of a second accuracy if it is set for 30 frames a second it can not be set to 100 frames a second. When I set one up it is usually at only 10 frames a second. In Track and field, the sport that the cameras were first designed for, any track race that is photo timed that has a manual start can only be reorted to the next highest tenth. The IAAF book also has road races, cross country and hill races reported to the next whole second even if timed with a camera doing 1000 frames a second or a chip system that has a resolution of 1/100 ofa second. Giving a time past the tenths is giving false accuracy.
I can't remember if this worked or not, but I had a similar problem - I needed to create a manual start but wanted my timing to be 1000th of a second. (I was after relative times and did not care about accuracy - just precision.) Anyway, if you have a plunger then you could try plugging it into the connection box and creating a start that way.
