"CHUMP for Palm OS", by Broder's Skunkware, has been licensed to provide real-time scoring & statistics for the WTA Home Depot Championships this week at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The tournament features the top 16 players in womens tennis, including Serena Willams, Lindsay Davenport, and Jenn Capriati. Prize money is three million bucks, and 120 hours of live TV will be featured in over 100 countries.

The CHUMP suite of Skunkware apps includes a Palm OS umpiring tool, Windows-based data collection software, and Java-based real-time web software.

Live point-by-point scores and stats can be viewed at:

CHUMP has previously been used for hundreds of womens matches at the US Open and Australian Open, however, this marks the debut of CHUMP at a non-Grand-Slam WTA Tour tournament.

Skunkware timing products such as Veloresults, DTK, SHOWJUMP32, DRESSAGE32, and TT*WARE all feature the same web-ready TCP/IP hooks as the CHUMP software suite. The above URL is a good example of how to utilize this type of data stream to put live content onto the web for any sport.
