Quick question on camera alignment. Our last meet we had what seemed to be a perfect camera alignment. It was not across the finish line at all (better than we have ever had it) and the runners were focused really well. The only question I have is our lanes were a light blue instead of white (finish line had been painted fairly recently so was very white). It was not really a problem but we strive for perfection and was just wondering why we can't get a white finish line when everything else seems to be as good as it can get. Thanks

If you are using a 3 bar sensor(most finish lynx cameras) you have two of the bars seeing the finish line and one is just off of the line. It is really common to have the off color line when the track has the new IAAF 2cm wide black lane marks. The camera actually only reads the time from the center line of sensors so depending on if the camera is on the inside or out side of the track you actually have the very front of the finish line or the very back of the line. Having said that you can have a perfect picture and still have the camera placed ahead of or behind the the finish line by swivelling the sensors off of vertical.
