We are looking for the cables we need to connect a TDc8000 to a Toshiba laptop with Win98 software. I have downloaded the newest version of the Split Second Timing software and also have a key with time on it.

We would also like to connect an S3 to the same computer. Are they the same cables? Is the connection the same for a TDc4000?

Please let me know ASAP so we can order the appropriate materials. Thank You Sam Bachhuber Race Coordinator Mount Snow, VT

The S3 and the Tdc4000 use the same cable. It is $35.00 and has a 5 pin DIN connector with 4 pins in a square and a center ground pin. These connectors are extremely difficult to find on the open market. It is the same DIN connector used for the printer output. Pin # 1 is ground (center) and pin #3 (7 pm) is signal. It only works one way on the S3 or tdc 4000. If it fails, turn the plug 180 degrees.

The S4, COMET, TIMY and TDc8000 use the same 5 pin DIN connector for data output. This plug is 5 pins in a smile and can be bought at Radio Shack. Pin # 2 is ground and pin # 1 is signal. Pin 4 and 5 are jumped together.
