I understand the Zero gun test...I think. What is the test yields results that are outside the limits??? Ship her back to FinishLynx for servicve?

depends on the results. there are many causes for a delayed start. Gun sensor may be bad. radiolynx might have a low battery or loose wire. you may not be properly aligned to where you placed the gun.
IMHO, there are too many variables to cause you unnecessary grief than its worth. I've never had to do one and my camera has a scope so i know its on the line. I do sensor tests before every meet. In all my 20 years of using Lynx equipment, i've never seen an "uncalibrated" camera. Sensors on the other hand go bad, get wet, or lose their sensitivity. Lynx usually ships the gun sensors with a rubber cover on them to protect against water, this can cause it to not trigger a start, i tear it off any I see and they work much better. The only calibration mine ever needs is to verify the scope (TTL) is aligned.

The zero is to see that every thing is working and set correctly. If the zero is out side the .001 you are to figure out why and correct it before the first race. As mentioned bad sensor is likely the cause, with some other camera systems could be N.O. and N.C. options are switched. Could also be that the rules for rounding are not properly set in software. Some shells have a pre burn where the primer kicks out the powder which shows in the photo but is not loud, then the actual powder burns and makes the loud sound.
