There has been a firmware change in the TIMY Stopwatch program since the programs have been written. The latest versions cause the USSA software to create a start for the next racer at the same instant that the finish occurs.

The fix at the moment is to use "ALGE TDC 8000 Plus " as the timer selection when using the TIMY in "STOPWATCH".

"BACKUP" works fine and 90% of TIMY users are unaffected by these issues.

Use BACKUP for all software interfacing unless you test completely before competition.

Another anomoly when using stopwatch has become aparent. This affects the intervals used in the program and will cause the improper assignment of the interval if more than one racer is on course (ie split two assigned to the racer just out of the gate instead of the one who has already passed split one). This happens with SST set to TDC8000 for timer selection. Using TIMY with splits, use backup program.
Not willing to give up timing on the clock (sorry Geoff) I have found that you can use Stopwatch and SST with splits without problems, if your setup is correct. So start your timy in Stopwatch program and go to MENU/INTERFACE/RS232/MODE and make sure that NETTO TIME is OFF. This will keep the TIMY sending only channel and TOD information and keep the net times to itself. This also will fix the problem that Fred has reported about the simultaneous starts and allow you to time with stopwatch and TIMY selected for your timer. You should also be setting the PRINT START TIMES to ON. Both of these settings will need to be set again if you do a firmware upgrade.
