Well. Are proposing to use a stacked pair of HL2-35 similar to a set of HL2-32 , just minus the sync cable?

If so you will probably need to take special care to make sure the beams are not bleeding into each other. Maybe keep them a bit further apart maybe needed.

Splitting them so that the primary is on one side of the trail and the backup is on the other would theory reduce that possibility but require running a wire over there for the backup.

Let us know which technique works out.
thanks for the reply. We do split them, and have always done it that way (A on one side, B on the other). I cut a slot in the snow with my chainsaw the day before the race, and run the wire in that. It works fine with no interference. I just wanted to confirm that this is commonly done, but gauging by the lack of replies, maybe it's not!

In any case, they are only homologated for one more year, so I'll have to replace them soon.
We use an Alge PR1a system with reflectors, so I can't speak to the Tag Heuer system specifically. However, I will say that we have both A & B PR1a (TX/RX) units on the same side and have no problem. During setup, I simply ensure that I'm not getting x-talk. I do need to keep the beam separation at about the max permitted of 20 cm.

I believe that most hills have the TX/RX units on the same side.

With a thru-beam setup like yours, I would expect x-talk to be even less of an issue than with a reflector system.
